Rewire for Optimism: Thank God For The Anger

By Cathy Hartt, RN, DNP

“Eventually, when we look back on our existence, we see it all as a blessing, so we thank God for the fear, we thank God for the doubt, we thank God for the anger” – John Morton

Ready to start feeling more optimistic about our world? Gratitude journals a proven way to feel more optimistic. There are lots of ways to keep gratitude journals and it is fine to tweak things to fit your needs. The important part is to do this everyday for at least 6 weeks. This practice has been found to be as effective as a low dose antidepressant!

I am going to leave handouts on the table for you to use as your gratitude journal template. The main structure is to write out “I am grateful for/that/to ____________ because ______________.

If you have questions or want to share your reflections, please email me at cathy@artfromthehartt.com – I will keep the journal template on my website under the resources tab resilientstuff.com if you want to print more.
