Last week, we started the journey into the 24 character strengths. This week, we delve deeper into the strengths associated with the virtue of transcendence. When we move beyond our physical selves, we transcend our ordinary limitations.

During the Easter season, we might view transcendence as a spiritual strength. Prayer is an example of an action that helps us transcend our current human limitations. Other strengths that help us transcend our human condition include appreciation of beauty, gratitude, optimism, and humor. As I write this, I think of our centering videos of nature, our spirit sightings, and our unity in the fight for humanity. And how many times has bursting out in laughter helped us put our problems in perspective?

This week, consider which, if any, of these strengths you see in yourself and your loved ones.
